L is for Love is a verb

"Rings as hollow as a high school cheer"

It’s a little cliché to say that love is a verb, but it gives pause whenever I hear the phrase.  I say I love my kids, but do my actions back up my words?  Discuss among yourselves.

There should be a stronger word than love for the way a parent can feel about their kids. After all, people say they 'love' chocolate or curry - not the same thing at all. And yes, I love my kids - even when they don't call me for weeks and are too interested in football to talk when I call them - I still love them.

It's called unconditional love, that love is different to any sort of love.

Love is way too big to encompass it with a few (hundred billion) words. It is a living thing shared among living things. It has different degrees, but in the end, it is what gives us the greatest pleasure in life.

In Tagalog the word love is translated in two ways, 'mahal' and 'pag-ibig'. Mahal also means 'expensive' which I think is a cool undertone to the word. It adds value to the thing you love.

Yes, 'Love' is a verb, but also a noun! And a sort of a name too, or pet-name like 'Darling'.
Cool post!
Best wishes,

crazy that we onlu have one word for such a huge emotion - I try my hardest not to say love for chocolate or sunshine or any of the others that I like very much but don't actually love:) a friend of mine had a boy who didnt like being kissed in front of his school friends - so he and his mum ahd a ritual - she would call him in to the bedroom, sounding slightly irratated and then kiss him goodbye behind the door ( his face was saved and they both enjoyed it)
